Every adult should have annual skin cancer screenings. Early skin cancer treatment has the highest rate of success. If you have an increased risk of developing skin cancer, screenings are especially important.
Your risk of skin cancer increases if any of the following applies:
- You get sunburnt easily
- You tan frequently, either in a tanning bed or by sunbathing
- You work outdoors, especially during the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- You live at a higher altitude
- You live in a sunny climate
- A family member has had skin cancer
