During your consultation, we will talk with you about your symptoms and medical history. We’ll look at your blood work to determine the cause of your symptoms and develop a treatment plan customized to your needs.
2
Your appointment will take about 30 minutes, but the procedure itself should only be 10 to 20 minutes. First, we will numb the insertion site, then we make a small incision and insert the hormone pellet.
3
Pellets release a consistent amount of hormones over time, so you can expect the benefits to develop over the next weeks and months as your hormone levels stabilize to normal.
Our Approach at Total Skin
We will schedule your first follow-up appointment for 4 to 6 weeks after your initial appointment. We’ll check in with you about your symptoms and how you’re feeling, and we can modify your treatment plan if needed.

Still have questions?
Your body is unique, so your treatment will depend on how you feel and what’s right for you. For women, we typically place pellets every 4 months to provide your body with a steady level of hormones. At each appointment, we will ask you about your symptoms and make modifications to your treatment plan if needed.
After stopping BHRT, most patients don’t experience any immediate effects. However, your hormone levels may gradually decline, and you may start noticing changes weeks or months after stopping treatment. We can help you navigate these changes and address your concerns on a case-by-case basis.
