What to Expect From Dysport

Step 1: Consultation

During your consultation, your provider will talk with you about your skin concerns and goals. Based on this conversation and an examination of your skin, we will create a customized treatment plan for you.

Step 2: Treatment

First, we will clean your skin and carefully map out where to place your injections. Then, we will inject the Dysport into the treatment area. Placing injections can take as little as 15 minutes!

Step 3: Results

Over the next 2 weeks, your facial muscles will begin to relax, and wrinkles will smooth out and fade away. You can expect to enjoy wrinkle-free skin for the next 3 to 4 months.

Care Instructions

Pre-Care Instructions

  • If you take blood thinners, talk to your medical provider about pausing them for 2 weeks before your Dysport treatment.
  • Don’t take any NSAIDs (including aspirin and ibuprofen), St. John’s Wort, or vitamin E supplements for 2 weeks before your appointment to decrease the risk of bruising and bleeding.
  • Eat a light meal prior to treatment to decrease the chance of getting lightheaded.

Post-Care Instructions

  • Avoid exaggerated facial expressions in the treatment area for 1 hour after your Dysport treatment.
  • For 4 hours, avoid massaging the treatment area and don’t perform activities that involve heavy lifting or intense exercise.
  • Don’t schedule any facial treatments (lasers, microdermabrasion, facials, etc) for at least 1 week post-injection.
