We will review your symptoms and medical history. We will also ask you to undergo lab work so that we can analyze your hormone levels. With this information, we can determine the best way to rebalance your hormone levels and give you relief.
2
BHRT involves inserting a small bioidentical hormone pellet into a section of fatty tissue, typically in the upper buttocks or hip. We will numb your skin, make a small incision, and insert the pellet, which is only about the size of a grain of rice.
3
The pellet will release a consistent amount of hormones over the next 4 to 6 months, restoring your body to its normal balance. You will start to feel the benefits over the next few weeks as your hormone levels stabilize.
Our Approach at Total Skin
After your first hormone replacement treatment, we will schedule a series of follow-up appointments to check in with you. We will evaluate your body’s response and adjust your treatment plan if needed.

Still have questions?
Every person’s body is different, so the duration of your treatment depends on how you feel and what is right for you. We place the pellets approximately every 6 months to provide a steady level of hormones. At every appointment, we will check in with you about your symptoms and make modifications if needed.
Most patients don’t experience any immediate effects after stopping BHRT. However, your hormone levels may gradually decline after stopping treatment. Symptoms of hormonal deficiencies may develop after several months, but we can help you navigate these changes on a case-by-case basis, depending on your needs.
