During your consultation, we will talk to you about your desired results, skincare routines, and medical history. Based on this information and an examination of your skin, we develop a personalized treatment plan.

We will apply a topical anesthetic to numb your skin. After it completely takes effect, we will cleanse and prep your skin before applying the Halo laser. The treatment duration depends on the size of the area, usually around 30 to 45 minutes.

You will experience some redness and swelling that lasts 3 to 5 days. As your skin regenerates, it will improve in texture and tone, and your results will continue to develop over the next 1 to 3 months.

Many of our patients report very little discomfort during a Halo laser treatment. You may feel some heat and occasional pricking sensations, but we use a topical anesthetic to numb your skin before treatment for minimal discomfort.

Downtime for a Halo laser treatment is 4 to 7 days. During this time, you will experience redness and swelling, and you can expect to see microscopic epidermal necrotic debris (MENDS). This looks like tiny dark spots on the treatment area or an overall bronzed appearance. This is the old tissue, which will flake off and peel to reveal regenerated, healthier skin underneath.
It’s important to let your skin naturally peel during this time. Don’t pick, scratch, or itch at any of the rough spots, and keep your skin well moisturized to support healing. You can expect to see results as your skin regenerates over the next 1 to 3 months. These results can last for years, and additional Halo treatments can maintain or enhance your skin’s health.
The number of Halo treatments needed will depend on your exact skin, the treatment area, and your goals. During your consultation, your provider will recommend a specific number of sessions for achieving your desired results. Many people enjoy amazing results after only 1 or 2 Halo laser treatments!
